  • General Questions

    What exactly are E-Statements?
E-Statements are a safe, convenient way to view, print, and download your Tyndall Federal Credit Union account and Visa® statements. They are simply your regular paper statement in an electronic form, which takes the place of your paper statement. E-Statements are accessible only from within TFCU's secure Internet Banking site.

How much does it cost to receive E-Statements?
Nothing. Like Internet Banking, there is absolutely no charge for the E-Statement service.

    Can anybody receive E-Statements?
Any Tyndall Federal Credit Union Member who has enrolled in our FREE Internet Banking service may elect to receive E-Statements in place of their printed statements.

What benefits are there to receiving E-Statements, rather than paper statements?
By electing to receive your statements electronically, you benefit in many ways:

    • You save time because your statement is available on-line sooner than you would receive it by mail.
    • Receiving your statement electronically reduces your risk of Identity Theft and fraud. By not having your paper statements sitting in your mailbox, you are reducing the risk that the information can be stolen and used for fraudulent purposes.
    • By saving your statements electronically, you reduce the clutter in your home. Many people store their financial records for 7 years - that is a minimum of 84 monthly paper statements to store!
    • By helping your credit union to save money in paper and postage costs, you allow Tyndall Federal to use this cost savings toward providing better rates, products, and services for our Members.

    Are E-Statements secure?
Absolutely! When it comes to your personal and account information, we understand that the security of that information is of the utmost importance. Information accessible through Internet Banking, including E-Statements, is protected through multiple security measures, including user authentication, data encryption, and the use of secure servers. TFCU's Internet Banking site uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol with 128-bit encryption. Tyndall Federal Credit Union takes the issue of security very seriously. In fact, we recently implemented an additional layer of security to our Internet Banking log in - at any given time, you may be required to provide the answer to a specific security question in order to access your account information.

    Enrolling in E-Statements

How do I sign up for E-Statements?
Signing up for E-Statements is easy. Simply log into your account through Internet Banking at www.tyndallfcu.org. Then, click on the ''Statement'' link next to your Savings Account (-00 suffix) on the Accounts page. Select ''Receive E-Statements Only'' on the right side of the page and follow the instructions. Be sure to verify that your e-mail address is correct. Then choose ''Submit for This Account'' or ''Submit for All Accounts.'' That's all it takes.

What is the difference between ''Submit for This Account'' and ''Submit for All Accounts?''
If you choose to receive your statements electronically rather than by mail, this applies to all accounts/suffixes (Checking, Savings, Money Market, Visa®, etc.) under a particular member number. If you select the ''Submit for this Account'' button, you are requesting that Tyndall Federal no longer send you the paper statements for the member number under which you have logged in to Internet Banking. Please verify that the proper member number appears in the Account drop-down menu on the screen.

By clicking on the ''Submit for All Accounts'' button, you are requesting that we discontinue paper statement delivery for all member numbers now appearing under this Internet Banking Access ID (Log In), except for those member numbers designated as ''Transfer To/View Only.'' This does not apply to Visa® Platinum statements, as they are not available in an electronic format at this time.

What if I am not enrolled in Internet Banking yet?
If you are not yet enrolled in Internet Banking, you may enroll by selecting the Internet Banking button in the center of our Home Page. On the log-in page, select ''Enroll'' and proceed with the on-line registration. Once you register as an Internet Banking user, your next account statement will be available to you as an E-Statement. For example, if you enroll in Internet Banking on May 17, 2007, your May 31, 2007 statement will be available in electronic form. Remember, there is no charge for Internet Banking or for E-Statements!

Can I come into a Tyndall Federal Branch to enroll in E-Statements?
In order to enroll in E-Statements, you must actually log in to Internet Banking and submit the request yourself. It is not something a Tyndall Federal employee can do for you. However, if you have feel you need assistance with the enrollment process, a Financial Sales Representative at any one of our branches will be happy to help you enroll.

    How E-Statements Work

How do I access my E-Statement?
Our E-Statement product is easy to use; simply log in and navigate to the ''Statement'' link on the Accounts page within the Internet Banking Service. The account ''Statement'' link is located next to the -00 Savings/Share Account, and the Visa® ''Statement'' link is located next to the Visa® loan. Simply enter the date of the statement you wish to view and click ''Find.''

Will the E-Statement look exactly the same as my paper statement?
Your E-Statement will look almost exactly like your printed statement and will include all of the same information. However, any inserts that would normally be included with your printed statement, such as The Teller quarterly newsletter and required disclosures, will be available for download from the Statement Inserts/Required Disclosures link at the bottom of the Internet Banking log-in page. They will not be directly connected to the E-Statement.

How do I know when my E-Statement is available?
If you choose to receive E-Statements instead of paper statements, we will send an ''E-Statement Alert'' e-mail message to the e-mail address you provide to inform you that your statement and any applicable disclosures are available for viewing on-line. Should you need to change the e-mail address for the E-Statement Alert, you may update the information at any time by accessing ''User Services'' within the Internet Banking Service.
The E-Statement Alert will include Tyndall Federal Credit Union's web address. Please go to our web site at www.tyndallfcu.org and log in to Internet Banking. Your E-Statement will be available from the ''Statement'' link on the Accounts page any time after you log in to the Internet Banking Service. Any associated disclosures or statement inserts will be available from a link on the Internet Banking log-in page.
Please note that we intentionally do not make our web address a link in the e-mail. This is strictly for your security, since there is so much fraud running rampant on the Internet these days. Although you can trust TFCU to provide you with valid information, you cannot always trust that any message you receive is actually from your credit union.

Do I have to notify the Credit Union if my e-mail address changes?
In order to provide E-Statements in place of paper statements, we must maintain your current e-mail address at all times. We are required to send you a notification e-mail to inform you that your statement is available for viewing on-line. Therefore, we ask that you keep us informed of any changes to that address. You may notify us by accessing the ''User Services'' section of Internet Banking.

Can I call into the Member Service Center or come into a Branch to update my e-mail address?
While you may certainly contact us to inform us of your new e-mail address, that will not update your information within Internet Banking. In order to update the e-mail address on file for the delivery of your E-Statement notification, you must actually log in to Internet Banking and update the address on record.

What if I forget to notify Tyndall Federal that my e-mail address has changed?
If we receive the e-mail back as ''Undeliverable,'' we will send a written notice to the address we have on file for you, but we must reinstate delivery of your paper statements at that time. Once you have updated your e-mail address within Internet Banking, you may once again submit a request to Receive E-Statements Only you wish to do so.

If I do not receive the e-mail notification, does that mean that my E-Statement will not be available?
No, it does not mean that your E-Statement is not available. Your E-Statements will be available within Internet Banking, whether or not you receive the e-mail notification. However, if you fail to receive the notification as expected, please log into Internet Banking and verify that we have the correct e-mail address on record for you.

Can I receive my account statement electronically, but still receive my Visa® statement by mail?
No. When you enroll for E-Statements, you are requesting that we send all of your statements to you electronically instead of by mail (with the exception of your Visa ® Platinum statement). At any time, you may change back to receiving your statements by mail through the ''Statement'' or ''User Services'' section of Internet Banking.

Will my E-Statement also include the items that are sometimes in my statement, such as The Teller newsletter?
No. The E-Statement will not have the statement inserts attached to it. However, any statement inserts that would normally be provided with your printed statement will be made available from a link at the bottom of Tyndall Federal's Internet Banking log-in page. We encourage you to review them each month.

When can I expect my paper statements to be discontinued?
Once we receive your request to receive E-Statements instead of paper statements, we may send you a paper statement as well as the electronic version for the first statement cycle, especially if your request is made after the 25th of the month. After that, your statements will be accessible through Tyndall Federal's Internet Banking service, and you will no longer receive a statement by mail.

Are my previous account statements available on-line?
If you were an Internet Banking user as of July 31, 2006, your account history for previous months is available in the same way as it is now within Internet Banking. The actual E-Statement format was made available, beginning with the July 31, 2006 account statement.

If you are not currently an Internet Banking user, your account E-Statements will be available as of the end of the month in which you enroll in Internet Banking.

How long will the E-Statements be available on-line?
E-Statements are available through Internet Banking for 24 months from the date you enroll. We recommend you download the statements to your hard drive or to a disk, for record retention purposes.

    Technical

Do I need special software to view my E-Statements?
No. You do not need any special hardware or software. If you can access Internet Banking, you should have no problem accessing E-Statements. Before enrolling in either Internet Banking and/or E-Statements, verify that you have:
    • Internet access.
    • A computer and Internet browser that can support 128-bit encryption.
    • For security purposes, you should use the most current version of either: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator/Communicator, or AOL’s browser. The most current browser versions are typically more secure and will support 128 bit encryption. Browser upgrades are accessible on the Internet Banking log-in page.
    • Access to a printer or storage medium such as a hard drive so that you can download and/or print disclosures and/or statements for your records.
    • An e-mail address so that we can contact you when necessary.
    • Up-to-date versions of the PC's virus protection, spyware, and firewall software.

How do I save my statements to my computer?
Click on the ''Download'' button at the top of your E-Statement. Name the statement file whatever you wish and choose the location you would like to save it to on your computer.

Do I have to enable ''cookies'' on my Internet browser to be able to view my E-Statement?
Cookies must be enabled in order to access Tyndall Federal's Internet Banking service. If you need assistance with your browser's settings, please call Internet Banking Support at (850) 769-9999, option 5, or toll-free at 888-896-3255, option 5, Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Central.

What if my computer is unavailable or I cannot access Internet Banking for some reason? Can I get a printed statement?
Of course. You may request a copy of your statement by speaking with a Financial Sales Representative at one of our Branch locations. You may also call our Member Service Center at (850) 747-4300, or toll-free, at 888-896-3255. The standard statement copy fee will apply.

How can I tell if I have already requested E-Statements instead of paper statements?
Once you log into your account within Internet Banking,

    • Click on the ''Statement'' link on the Accounts page, or
    • Click on the ''E-Statements'' link under User Services.

On the right side of the page, you will see an Electronic Statement Delivery box, with a message that indicates the status of E-Statements on your account.

    Resuming Delivery of Paper Statements

If I change my mind and choose to receive my statements by mail again, who do I contact?
You do not need to speak directly with anyone. Just log in to Internet Banking, select the User Services tab, and select ''E-Statements'' under the Manage Account section. If you wish to begin receiving paper statements again only for the member number under which you have logged in to Internet Banking, select the ''Opt Out for this Account'' button. By clicking the ''Opt Out For All Accounts'' button, you submit the request for all member numbers now appearing under this Internet Banking Access ID (Log In), except for those member numbers designated as ''Transfer To/View Only.'' This does not apply to Visa® Platinum statements, as they are not available in electronic format at this time.

Although your electronic statements will still be available to you, you will also begin to receive your statements again by mail.

Is there a fee to receive my statements by mail again?
No. There is no fee associated with resuming delivery of your paper statements.
